Extra Help

Scratch is a drag-and-drop coding platform that allows students to drag coding "blocks" onto a workspace and click them together to create programs.  It allows students to work with the coding process and mindset, but without getting tripped up by the coding language.

We recommend everyone signs up for a free Scratch account as this allows for saving of your work, and also the ability to share projects with others.

If you have never used Scratch before, then please start with our "Introduction to Scratch" lesson.

Once you are familiar with Scratch, we actually recommend that everyone starts with Activity #1 and works through the activities in order.  There is a bit of a progression and story that unfolds across some of the activities.

But, if you are looking for activities that specifically align with the concepts taught at a particular grade level, then you can choose your grade range and follow the guidelines for the activities designed for your specific grade.

Each activity is designed to be completed within about 1-2 hours, depending on your previous experience with coding and the Scratch platform.

However, each activity is broken down into smaller "Steps", so you can easily come back to an activity and continue where you left off.
